| TRIAL
BY JURY 'FROM SCRATCH' |
| London
Operetta’s ‘From Scratch’ performances
of Gilbert and Sullivan’s operetta
masterpieces have been delighting audiences
at festivals and theatres throughout the
country for a number of years. |
| We
now have great pleasure in presenting; |
| ‘Trial
By Jury ‘From Scratch.’ This ‘perfect
gem’ of an operetta is a unique fun-filled
production which combines lots of audience
participation with a fully staged and wonderfully
sung performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s
comic masterpiece. |
| In
the first half of this highly entertaining
performance, Musical Director Ian
McMillan teaches the audience their
musical lines and moves (We provide the music
scores / programmes). The Gentlemen in the
audience become the ‘Jury’ and
the Ladies take on the roles of ‘Angelina’s
Bridesmaids’. |
| In
the second half, they are joined by our cast
of talented professional soloists (who have
worked with companies such as E.N.O., Scottish
Opera, Opera North, New Sadlers Wells Opera,
The Carl Rosa Opera and the D'Oyly Carte
Opera Company) for a fully costumed and staged
performance. |
 |
| STAGING |
 |
| ‘Trial
By Jury From Scratch’ is
very simple to stage and suitable for
a number of different style venues. We
ask the venue to provide; |
| A
grand or baby grand piano, some rostrum,
a large grand chair for the Judge and a second
chair for the Plaintiff, a basic sound system
for the Musical Director which is used during
the rehearsal part of the performance (the
actual performance is acoustic), some good
basic lighting and enough lighting on the
audience to enable them to read their programmes/music
scores in comfort. We bring everything else
with us. |
| 2
Dressing Rooms with the usual facilities. |

RECENT REVIEWS FROM OUR ‘FROM SCRATCH’ PERFORMANCES |
 |
| “London
Operetta’s Gilbert and Sullivan From
Scratch performances just get better and
better…. We were helped by a splendid
programme and a director who never lost his
sense of humour, though he worked us solidly
for the first hour…. During the second
part (the actual performance) we were treated
to some superb singing from the principals….
John Ayldon’s (of D’Oyly Carte
fame) hilarious performance as ‘The
Sergeant of Police’ (in The Pirates
Of Penzance) should be recorded for future
generations”. |

| “This
was absolutely spiffing fun…. Wonderful
singing from the cast of professional singers….
This was better than the last night of the
proms – a great patriotic, flag waving
party. Do whatever you can to get a seat
for the final performance tonight’ |

Aberdeen Press and Journal (HMS Pinafore) |
| “A
real romp of an evening…. The audience
loved every minute |
